filling up of non-gazetted promotional posts -
maintenance of Calendar for selections/suitability/trade tests
– filling up of promotional quota vacancies in Safety
Categories. |
In terms of instructions contained in this Ministry’s letter
No.E(NG)I-87/PM1/4 dt.18.08.1987 and letter No.E(NG)I-87/PM1/14
dt.22.07.1988 Zonal Railways are required to draw up a calendar for
conducting selections for various grades to help them plan various
activities connected with selections and to ensure better compliance
of Board’s orders regarding holding of selections at regular
intervals. These instructions have been reiterated by this Ministry
from time to time and lastly vide letter No.E(NG)I/2003/PM1/35
dt.04.12.2003.
2. In
the General Managers’ Meeting held on 14.06.2005 concern has been
expressed on the large number of vacancies in safety categories
which are as high as 21% on one of the Zonal Railways. It has been
emphasized that urgent priority should be accorded to filling up of
vacancies in safety categories.
3. Board accordingly desire
that the extant instructions regarding drawing up of a calendar for
holding selections/suitability/trade tests should be followed
scrupulously by the Railways so that the vacancies in the
promotional grades in general and Safety Categories in
particular are filled up in regular manner as per the prescribed
procedure.
